Welcome to Travelers Employee Cycling Network.
TECN’s mission is to provide a fun and supportive environment for riders of varying abilities and interests to connect when looking to organize a ride, sharing cycling information or inspirational stories.
With spring’s arrival, more employees may want to try commuting to work by bicycle. Travelers Employee Cycling Network (TECN) can introduce new or interested cycle commuters to ideas to get them started as well as introduce them to other riders.
TECN is comprised of Travelers employees on any campus who ride bikes and may cycle commute, including:
-Existing bike-to-work commuters.
-Employees who want to bike to work and who need a few hints to get started.
-Cyclists who don’t bike to work but ride solo, with a group or in events or races.
-Road cyclists, mountain bikers and off-road riders
-Casual riders and employees who are new to cycling or looking to learn more about doing so safely.
TECN shares information about members’ cycling experiences. They host lunch-and-learns on cycling skills, safety, routes, basic maintenance, etc.
In Hartford, TECN supports the community and the company as one of Hartford’s two Bike Friendly workplaces. With more cyclists’ participation, Travelers’ status as a bike-friendly workplace could move from bronze to the silver level of recognition.
To get involved or learn more, reach out to a network representative below.
And definitely reach out if you’re interested in joining the bike-to-work group starting April 2!
