Celebrate National Bike to Work Day – May 19

The Travelers Employee Cycling Network (TECN) will be in downtown Hartford on National Bike to Work Day to greet cyclists and share information about the network.  The first 15 Travelers employees who arrive by bike will receive lunch vouchers for the Plaza Café.

Date: Friday, May 19
Time: 7-9 a.m. (Riders are invited to pose for a group photo at 8:30 a.m.)

During the event, Hartford Mayor Luke Bronin and Katie Dykes, Commissioner of the Connecticut Department of Energy & Environmental Protection, will speak about initiatives to improve infrastructure and safety for cyclists and pedestrians across Hartford and the state.

Representatives from other Hartford-based companies and organizations, including the Center for Latino Progress’s BiCi Co., the City of Hartford’s Complete Streets Plan and Bike Walk Connecticut, will host tables and share promotional information.

Members of TECN will be organizing group rides from various locations for Bike to Work Day. Interested cyclists are invited to meet at BiCi Co. West on May 19 at 7:15 a.m. for a group ride to Old State House Square.
